Parks and Recreation Indoor Facility Reopening Schedule:

  • Durango Community Recreation Center has reopened!  Please visit the Recreation Center web page for more information and guidelines.
  • Parks and Recreation Administration Office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Durango Gymnastics is open and hosting a modified programming schedule.
  • Chapman Hill is the site for the Summer Gametime program.  There are limited hours for public skate and Children’s birthday parties.  Please see the Chapman schedules here.

Skate Park at Schneider Park Usage Conditions:

  • 10 Skaters Maximum
  • Must Observe the Stay 6 Feet Apart Advisory
  • Wear Face Coverings when unable to maintain safe social distancing

Park Restrooms Are Open:

Restrooms are sanitized once a day.  Please follow these guidelines:

  • Must Observe the Stay 6 Feet Apart Advisory
  • Wear Face Coverings
  • Bring Your Own Hand Sanitizer

Temporary Pedestrian Access to Oxbow Park and Preserve

There is temporary pedestrian access to Oxbow Park and Preserve, located at the north end of Oxbow Park on Animas View Drive. Do not enter through the construction entrance. Oxbow Park is currently under construction and is an active construction zone. It is important to stay on the provided access trail and outside of the construction zone to avoid construction personnel, equipment and activities. This temporary access may be periodically and unexpectedly closed for necessary construction activities.

There is no public access to the Animas River via East 36th Street or Silverton Street. Trespassing across private property is unlawful.
