Commander Brammer

Commander Brammer Named Interim Police Chief 


Brammer brings over twenty years of experience to the position, thirteen of which have been in
increasing leadership roles within the Durango Police Department. The City will initiate a recruitment process to select a permanent Chief in January. Click here for more information.

Upcoming Community Meetings


The City of Durango will be hosting interactive & educational community workshops on December 3rd and December 5th to understand existing conditions and create a vision for the future of the College and 8th District. Click here for the schedule and more information.


ADUs

ADUs in Crestview and other neighborhoods


On Thursday, December 6th, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, the City of Durango will host a neighborhood meeting to discuss the recent expansion of the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Program into additional neighborhoods. The meeting will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 419 San Juan Drive. Click here for more information.

Trolley

Discounted Transit and Parking Passes on Noel Night! 


The City of Durango will be selling discounted transit and parking cards during Noel Night on Friday, December 7 between 1-9 p.m. To purchase your passes, visit the “Holly Jolly Trolley” on Noel Night, parked in front of the Durango Welcome Center on the corner of 8th and Main.

There will be free coffee and hot chocolate available at the Holly Jolley Trolley in front of the Durango Welcome Center. New this year, the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission will be wrapping gifts for free, but gladly accepting donations to support the Common Grounds Café.

San Juan Basin Public Health Department is sponsoring a Free Transit Day on December 7 in celebration of Noel Night. Ride all routes for free, all day long! Durango Transit will operate extended hours on Noel Night, with the last buses leaving the Transit Center at 10 p.m. Click here for more information.

You can now receive 9NEWS from Denver with a FREE over-the-air signal in Durango and La Plata County. 9News, KUSA in Denver can now be viewed on Durango Government Television (DGOV) on over-the-air channel 10.2. This means anyone with a TV antenna can view 9News by simply attaching an antenna to their TV and re-scanning their TV for channel 10.2. Learn more here.

Over a century ago, the City's work horses had to eat, and had to rest...


On December 1, 1914, Durango’s City Council agreed to pay Mr. H. H. Kettlewell to pasture up to 4 horses at $1.50 per month per horse for common pasture, plus $5 per head per month for pasturage, feeding and stabling at night.
