  • Bagged or boxed loose brush and leaves
  • That's it! No other waste will be collected.

E 2nd Ave is now a Two-Way Street between E 5th Street and College Dr


East 2nd Avenue has been turned into a two-way street between E 5th Street and College Drive. It was previously a one-way (northbound) street. The signal at College Drive and E 2nd Avenue has been updated to accommodate this change. As part of the development approval for the construction of the Downtown Durango Hotel, the hotel developer was required to turn East 2nd Avenue from a one-way street to a two-way street between E 5th Street and College Drive. Return of 20 minute Trolley Service

DRO Summertime Passenger Traffic Grows


The Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) experienced strong summertime passenger traffic growth, indicating signs of resiliency in the regional economy following the 416 fire. June passenger traffic increased 1.3%, July traffic increased 1.1% and August traffic increased 4.6% over the same months in 2017. Year-to-date, DRO’s passengers have increased 2.1% through August compared to 2017.

Durango had electric lighting on advertising signs in 1909. On 9/24/1909 Joseph H. Taylor was permitted to place an electric light sign in front of the Vienna Restaurant, not less than 12 feet above sidewalk and not over 12’ in length from side of building.
