Durango, CO: An upcoming neighborhood meeting for Animas View Drive residents, businesses, and property owners will be hosted by City staff on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Along with the community, city staff were grieved to learn of the devastating and tragic event that recently led to the loss of a life on Animas View Drive.
While long-term capital improvement projects such as sidewalks and bicycle facilities are planned along Animas View Drive, such investment and engineering can take several years before the community sees any benefit. We would like to receive feedback from the residents, businesses, and property owners most impacted in the area. The neighborhood meeting is an opportunity to discuss solutions that could be implemented in the near-term along Animas View Drive. City staff invites you to join us to provide feedback on concerns and improvements.
The city is committed to improving safety for all Durango community members and visitors. We hope you will be able to attend to offer your input on your neighborhood. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Katie Siegrist, and to all the residents on Animas View Drive who have been impacted by this devastating event.
