Durango, CO: Residential neighborhoods are requested to restrict curbside parking to help the city's Public Works Department clear the streets of snow in anticipation of a winter storm that is forecast the evening of Tuesday, 2/21 through as late as Friday of this week.
Public Works anticipates snow plowing beginning tonight, potentially continuing through the week, as weather requires. The department requests residential neighborhoods restrict curbside parking as follows:
- No parking on north or west sides of the streets on even dates, and;
- No parking on south or east sides of the streets on odd dates.
This is currently a voluntary request for a pilot program to test alternative street clearing that the Streets Division will be working to implement over the coming year. More details will follow, later this spring, but your cooperation for this weather event would help us obtain useful information.
Also, it’s likely that we will receive over 2” of snow tonight/tomorrow, at which time, currently designated Snow Routes will be activated, meaning all parking, on both sides of those routes will be restricted and result in ticketing/towing, as required to maintain safe access in the city.
Thanks for your assistance and compliance and, while driving safely, enjoy our wonderful Colorado snow!
