FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, OCTOBER 20, 2022
City of Durango residents headed to city hall can now expedite their experience by using the city’s new interactive touch-screen kiosk.
Residents will be able to apply for a job; apply for a business license; make payments; file an open records request; and search city records, among other services.
A kiosk attendant will be available to assist, along with a phone and intercom to ask questions. The kiosk allows residents to help themselves when the cashier at city hall is away or busy.
“The concept of this to serve the underserved,” said City Clerk Faye Harmer. “Those who don’t have computer access or don’t have internet access can certainly use this portal.”
The new self- help kiosk launches alongside the City of Durango’s new Open Records Request system, which allows city staff to cut the time fulfilling a record request from approximately an hour to 15 or 20 minutes. A video explaining how the new records request system was recently released on the city’s YouTube channel.
