The City of Durango collects residential and commercial garbage and recycling within the City limits. The City is committed to reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and providing high quality trash and recycling services.

Garbage and recycling containers must be in the alley or at the curbside by 8:00 am for residential collection.

Emergency Ordinance

City Council has passed an emergency ordinance for wildlife/trash conflicts stating residents will be subject to a $100 fine for a first violation and a $200 fine for any subsequent violation. NO WARNINGS GIVEN. This emergency ordinance will last for 60 days until March 16, 2018. View the full ordinance (PDF).
