Drone Show:

https://verge.aero/

How do drone shows work?

Drone shows use hundreds – or even thousands – of synchronized, illuminated drones that create giant images hundreds of feet up in the air.  Each drone is a 3D, independently position able pixel, turning the sky into a giant canvas.

How many drones do you need for a drone show?

100 to 150 drones is usually the minimum number of drones required for a show. Successful shows have been performed with as few as 50 drones in more intimate settings while world records have been set with thousands of drones. The City of Durango show will include 140 drones.  We ordered a 125-drone show, and Verge Aero added extra drones at no cost to wow us!

What should I expect to see?

As the show starts, you will see a mass of lights fly into the sky from Greenmount Cemetery, which is the take off / landing zone.   The lights will move into position and change color as they form patriotic images.  The show lasts 10-12 minutes from take-off to landing, so be ready to watch at the start time.

Can I see the drones from anywhere?

The lights shine very brightly, so yes, you will be able to see the drones from a wide variety of places.  HOWEVER, you will not necessarily be able to discern the images.  The best viewing area is across from Greenmount Cemetery, with the Transit Center as the center of the best viewing.
